Organization
CVG applies a flat organization structure. At
its heart is our production section, which
collaborates closely with the sales department
to meet our customers’ demands. Research
and development is carried out at a modest
level within the company, but a great deal
in this field is achieved through cooperation
with external partners.

Structure
CVG has been a publicly listed company since
1985. In 2003 CVG underwent restructuring to
achieve a transparent corporate structure that
facilitates corporate governance in line with
modern standards. Since 15 July 2003, Crown Van
Gelder N.V. has been the full legal name of the
company. With effect from 13 July 2005 the
Articles of Association were amended to comply
with the new principles and guidelines of the
Corporate Governance Code (Code Tabaksblat)
Strategic alliances
The paper sector is experiencing a continual
development towards larger companies in order
to increase business efficiency and to better
control production capacities. In the year
2000 CVG carefully considered whether the company’s
position could be strengthened by collaboration
with strategic partners. It was in this period
that the economic cycle took a downturn; in
November 2001 CVG announced in a press release
that it did not consider activities in this
direction to be useful for the next few years
and was thus suspending its plans.
CVG is linked to two other companies: the subsidiary
Inkoopcombinatie de Eendragt (82%) in Zaandam
and the associated company IFO-International
Forwarding Office (50%), also in Zaandam. De
Eendragt conducts the purchase of chemical
pulp, the raw material for paper, and of additives.
IFO handles shipment of the finished product.
