What do our staff have to say?
Engel Arie Gravemaker, process
operator:
" The entire shift has been here for least
ten years "
Engel Arie Gravemaker (1965) has been working at
CVG for over twelve years. He steadily rose in
the organization, working and studying, to become
the process operator he is today. Isn’t that
a long time, twelve years working for the same
boss? “How do you mean? The entire shift
has been here for at least ten years. I don’t
want to go anywhere else. The atmosphere is fine,
the collective bargaining agreement is too, and
the work is varied. Even the shift system is ideal,
especially if you’ve got children growing
up."
Gea ten Hoeve, process technologist:
" Our employment conditions are really
good "
Following Technical College and paper oriented
VAPA studies, work experience in the paper industry
and a job at CVG since 1999, Gea ten Hoeve (30)
now belongs to the select community of around one
hundred Dutch paper technologists, in which everyone
knows everyone else. “So I’m in a good
position to make comparisons. My job has gained
in variety and responsibility. But I have the conditions
of employment too: profit sharing, thirteenth month,
payment of overtime – that’s a really
good feature here."
Bart Lensink, shift supervisor:
" Every day is different "
Following Nautical College, Hoogovens and the nuclear
power plant in Petten, Bart Lensink (1966) started
as a trainee at CVG in 2001. Now he is a shift
supervisor. Compared to most of his colleagues
he has experienced a lot of employers. “But
this is where I’ve really found my niche,
above all thanks to the variety. Paper is a living
thing and it behaves differently each time. That
keeps things interesting. The conditions of employment
are excellent too, but what’s most important
for me is the element of surprise: every day is
different."
