Introducing Crown Van Gelder

Crown Van Gelder N.V., known as CVG for short, is an independent paper manufacturer, listed on Euronext Amsterdam and located on the North Sea Canal close to Velsen. Almost three hundred people are employed here, generating an annual turnover of around € 160 million . Our company produces specialties for graphical and industrial applications in the woodfree uncoated and single-coated paper sector.

We at CVG want to stand out in the markets where we operate. So we’d like to tell you more about ourselves, our vision and strategy, our organization and our history.

CVG is a medium-sized, modern and versatile paper manufacturer, able to respond flexibly to customer requirements and focused on the interests of our capital suppliers. CVG also wishes to distinguish itself as a good, challenging and reliable employer.

Not large, but highly versatile
Our annual production capacity approaches 220,000 tons of paper on reels. This volume does not put us among the major globally operating companies, but we are versatile enough to respond quickly to our customers’ specific requirements. Within our niche market we are however an important player at the European level.

Market oriented and innovative
CVG takes a modest and service-minded attitude towards its customers, but within our trade and in our company we are full of ambition. Here we can boast a wealth of sophisticated paper technology, skills, experience and above all a love of the craft.

The interests of the shareholders
We regard our capital suppliers – the shareholders and holders of depositary receipts – as primary stakeholders alongside our customers and employees. In order to increase their control and the transparency of the company, corporate restructuring was carried out in 2003, 2005 and 2009. Our strategy for the coming years is aimed at considered expansion and further efficiency improvement in production, resulting in a balanced growth of the share over the long term.

The human touch
Almost three hundred people work at CVG, with over one hundred of these directly involved in the factory production. CVG conducts an active personnel policy and we are proud of our reputation as a good, socially minded employer.
